Practice driving test marking

DL25

Mark a mock test the way the real sheet is marked.

Fill in the candidate details, record faults, and the result updates as you mark. Reports stay on the device. Nothing is sent to DVSA, and the app does not book or record a real test.

About DL25

Mock Test DL25 is a training app for marking a practice driving test on a mock DL25 sheet. It runs on iPhone and iPad, on iOS 16 or later.

The word MOCK is printed across every page, so a practice sheet cannot be mistaken for an official record. A driving school name, set in Setup, is printed under it, smaller and centred, in the same light lettering.

It is built for the lesson, not the test centre. The person marking can practise the sheet, explain a fault while it is still fresh, and hand the pupil a clear report afterwards.

Why instructors use it

The sheet instructors already know

The form is the official DL25 artwork, opened at the largest size that fits the screen. MOCK is printed across every page, with the driving school name centred beneath it when one is set in Setup.

The result keeps up with the marking

A clean sheet stays on None. A driving fault moves the result to Pass. Sixteen or more driving faults, any serious or dangerous fault, an eyesight S, or an ETA tick moves it to Fail. Physical and verbal intervention both fail the test.

A review before a habit becomes a fail

Four driving faults in one box raise a review note and set out the DVSA considerations. They do not fail the test on their own. If the same fault is habitual, it can be marked serious.

A practice note with every fault

Marking a fault writes what it means and how to put it right. An eyesight S records that the number plate was not read. An ETA, physical or verbal tick records that the examiner had to step in. An ECO tick notes fuel-efficient driving and leaves the result unchanged. Every note can be edited.

Eyes stay on the drive

The form locks while the vehicle is moving and opens again when it stops. Marking waits until the incident is over, so a fault is less likely to be missed and the person marking can still step in.

A report you can hand over

Share saves or sends the open report as a PDF, including the school name. From the report list, select the sheets you want and export each one as its own PDF. If the notes run past the box, the PDF adds a page headed “Fault descriptions continued”.

Backups only this app can read

Backup saves a sealed file of every report and the setup into Files, then opens that list. Restore keeps the newer copy when a report exists in both places, and leaves reports that exist only on the device. A fresh install can restore a backup, including one kept in iCloud.

Ready for the next pupil

Setup holds the vehicle registrations and the instructor number. Tick the registration used on a new report, or choose one from the sheet. A number already written on a report stays until you choose another vehicle.

How marking works

Tap a printed word or the line beside it to type. Date and Time stamp today’s date and the current time, and Undo removes that stamp. Vehicle registration, the pass certificate, the staff numbers and the re-key date take one character in each box.

The eyesight check has two parts. The box on the left only records that the check was carried out. The eyesight S is a serious fault. It fails the test and the drive stops.

DVSA expects the person marking to watch the candidate and the road, and to mark a fault once the incident is over. The form locks while the vehicle is moving. It opens again when the vehicle stops. Your position is not saved.

A saved sheet stays locked until you choose to edit it. Pinch to look closer, or use Zoom in and Zoom out. On iPad, hide the report list and the sheet widens to fill the screen.
